Help For Those Who Struggle with Homosexuality

Do you have a child struggling with gender identity? Do you know someone struggling with homosexuality? Is it a personal struggle for you?

Homosexuality is no longer a hush-hush topic, it's an issue that all of us either will have to deal with in some way in the near future or already deal with on a daily basis. Whether it's something that you personally have to face or something that someone you love has to cope with, there is help. FamilyLife has put together a list of ministries that can help you find the answers to hard questions and help you respond to these issues in a biblical, Christ-like manner.

Websites:

Exodus International is a worldwide interdenominational, Christian organization called to encourage, strengthen, unify, and equip Christians to minister the transforming power of the Lord Jesus Christ to those affected by homosexuality.

Setting Captives Free exists to offer Christ-centered Hope and Freedom to those in the grip of sin through accountability to Bible-based Truth resulting in the true enjoyment of Life in and for the Glory of God.

Love in Action exists to be a Christ-centered ministry for the prevention or treatment of unhealthy and destructive behaviors facing families, adults, and adolescents. It is our hearts' cry to see families reconciled, people trapped in addictive and out of control behaviors find freedom in Christ, and struggling youth find a place of refuge. For more than eight years,

Witness Ministries has been at the forefront of public outreach to men and women of color who struggle to overcome same sex attractions and desires. We have no methods, only a timeless and proven message: Jesus Christ came to heal, deliver, and set free! Witness is committed to leading the way out of homosexuality into holiness and wholeness.

Covenant Eyes provides accountability for Internet users. It is a tool and ministry to enable and encourage purity for those having trouble with the sexual use of the Internet. An accountability partner is assigned to monitor your use of the Internet.

The Covenant Eyes Program was established to change people's lives. We, at Covenant Eyes, have a strong desire to make available to everyone the ability to foster self-control, self-discipline, and personal accountability when using the Internet. Job 31:1 states, "I have made a covenant with my eyes." It is our stated purpose to provide a tool enabling Internet users to maintain that covenant, regardless of whether their temptation is to pornography, gambling, or simply time spent on the Internet. Our goal is to honor God, our families, and our relationships in the way that we use the Internet by establishing accountability with others.

Regeneration Books is a biblically based, Christ-centered ministry helping men and women seeking to overcome homosexuality. Regeneration Books is a part of the Exodus ministry established to make readily available the best Christian Books dealing with healing for homosexuality.

Abiding Truth Ministries is a good resource for those wanting current information about the homosexual issue. It also has some resources for parents to help their children avoid the homosexual lifestyle.

Focus on the Family is promoting the truth that homosexuality is preventable and treatable—a message routinely silenced today. We want people to know that individuals don't have to be gay. That's why we've developed a one-day conference for those looking for answers on this often-divisive issue. Whether an educator, parent, concerned citizen, or even a gay activist, Love Won Out will inform, inspire, and offer hope.

LifeGuard Ministriesoffers freedom from homosexuality through Jesus Christ.

Stephen Bennett Ministries(SBM) has several purposes. First and foremost, SBM encourages men and women to successfully and permanently overcome their unwanted same-sex attractions.

Secondly, SBM ministers to countless parents, spouses, family members, and friends of homosexual men and women. Finally, SBM is a public policy organization raising awareness and the truth about homosexuality, as well as informing the public about the dangers and misinformation campaign being promoted by the 'gay' agenda.

If you believe the Bible, then you believe Jesus has the power to change us. Before I became a Christian, I wanted to commit suicide because I hated my life. When I chose to live for God, He gave me the power to stop doing the things I knew were wrong but couldn't stop. My life changed. That's real. If some are born with genetic tendicies towards alcoholism or homosexuality, that's all it is - a tendency. Noone is born with a bottle in their mouth and I don't believe we're born gay. Our choices make us who we are. Some chose to murder, some to drink, some to engage in homosexual relationships. Some chose to live for God even if it means saying no to desires; it's hard and they make mistakes, but they keep trying and don't give up, and eventually God sets them free. And he who the Son sets free is free indeed. I know because I've experienced it -and I'm still experiencing it - and so can anyone who really wants to be set free. God bless you.

If what you say is true, that's unfortunate, but don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

but don't take my word for it, follow the biblical injunction:

"Test all things; hold fast what is good."

blindly accepting what any one person tells you is true is not biblical. do your own research about the issue of homosexuality, look at what everyone, not just one denomination or church has to say, and weigh the issue for yourself. definitely read about the histories of Bussee, Cooper, and Paulk.

funny how no one ever mentions that two of the founders of Exodus International, Michael Bussee and Gary Cooper, eloped to begin a committed gay relationship with each other, publicly stated Exodus is a fraud, and issued apologies to the gay community for their involvement with the organization.

this was followed by John Paulk, the Chairman of Exodus International, being fired after he was photographed in a gay bar in 2000, having spent more than an hour drinking and flirting with other gay men, who he told he was gay.

these organizations are frauds. the "change" they talk about is fanciful. the largest psychological association in the country has publicly said that sexual orientation is not changeable, and that homosexuality is not an illness.

this is a sham.
